Following the success of several literary events this year including Hay Festival and Edinburgh International Book Festival, PJ Harvey announces a UK tour of spoken-word events.
The events will see PJ Harvey reading from Orlam and discussing her work with renowned guests.

27 October – The Fire Station, Sunderland – Sean O’Brien
Sean O’Brien has won major prizes for each of his five poetry collections, including the Cholmondeley Award, the Somerset Maugham award, the E.M. Forster Award and, twice, the Forward Prize for Best Collection.
28 October – Howard Assembly Room, Leeds – Ian Duhig
Ian Duhig has won the National Poetry Competition twice, and also the Forward Prize for Best Poem; his collection, The Lammas Hireling, was the Poetry Book Society’s Choice for Summer 2003, and was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and Forward Prize for Best Collection.
29 October – Central Library, Liverpool – Deryn Rees-Jones
Deryn Rees-Jones won an Eric Gregory award in 1993, and was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection in 1995. In 2004 she was named as one of Mslexia’s ‘top ten’ women poets of the decade, and chosen as one of the Poetry Book Society’s Next Generation poets.
31 October – Conway Hall, London – Frank Skinner
Frank Skinner is a renowned comedian, TV and radio presenter, actor and writer. In 1991 he won The Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and went on to create The Frank Skinner Show (ITV). Most recently he has successfully launched Frank Skinner;s Poetry Podcast with Absolute Radio.
8 November – The Old Market, Brighton – Max Porter
Max Porter’s Sunday Times bestseller Lanny was longlisted for the 2019 Booker Prize and the 2019 Wainwright Prize, shortlisted for the 2019 Gordon Burn Prize and both the Waterstones and Foyles Book of the Year 2019. His first novel, Grief is the Thing with Feathers, won the Sunday Times/Peters Fraser + Dunlop Young Writer of the Year and the International Dylan Thomas Prize, and was shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and the Goldsmiths Prize.
12 November – Bridport Literary Festival, Bridport – Greta Stoddart
Greta Stoddart is best known for her poetry collections At Home In The Dark, Salvation Jane and Alive Alive O, and her work has been included in several anthologies and recognised by awards and nominations. She teaches for the Poetry School, following a teaching career at Goldsmiths, the University of London and Bath Spa University. Her new poetry collection Fool was published by Bloodaxe this month.
